TENNIS TOURNAMENT
YWCA San Gabriel Valley’s WINGS Domestic Violence Program will host its 35th annual Tennis Classic Fundraiser at the Claremont Country Club, Friday, May 2, from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to a number of hotly contested tennis matches, a traditional live auction is planned.  A shopper’s paradise, the tourney will also feature a courtside silent auction with bottles of rare wine and vintners, popular concerts and luxurious vacation packages.

In addition to a champagne tasting, jewelry, designer purses and clothing will be available for avid shoppers by a handful of vendors.  At noon, tennis players will break from their games to enjoy a delicious lunch served by Azusa’s Canyon City Barbecue, while listening to the mellow sounds of Women on the Move, a trio of Trish Lester, Joan Enguita and Linda Geleris, who will also be selling their new CD on the Red Coyote label at the event.

During lunch, a live fashion show with local models will showcase clothes from leading Upland Designer, Martha Fernandez, and the Claremont Tennis Club Pro-Shop (men’s and women’s sportswear) on the main tennis court.

To play in the tourney, tickets are $50; to attend the event, $25.  Call the YWCA San Gabriel Valley to purchase tickets at (626) 960-2885
